Jamal Thompson has been taken into custody by Atlanta police for the murder of cancer researcher, Dr. Eugenia Calle. The Murder
Jamal "Shamel" Thompson was charged with the murder of Eugenia Calle, which occured in Calle's condo in Atlanta, Georgia. Calle reportedly was in the midst of selling her condo when she spotted Thompson and a real estate agent in the lobby of her building discussing availability. Calle overheard the two talking about the condos and said, "Don’t forget about mine; It’s for sale, also," according to the agent. After Thompson was done viewing two vacant condos, he asked a staffer in the building if he could call Calle and view her apartment. He went up unescorted and allegedly struck Calle with a blunt object, which proved to be fatal.
