Jake Owen is a country music singer-songwriter. Before embarking on his music career Jake was an aspiring professional golfer, but a water skiing accident altered his plans. Songwriting
After playing at campus bars for free beer and low pay, Jake Owen tired of singing cover songs and decided he would be better off writing his own songs. With only 9 credit hours needed to finish college he decided to move to Nashville where he met producer Jimmy Ritchey.
Jake Owen History
His first single "Yee Haw" was ranked #16 on the charts. It can be found on his 2006 debut album, Startin' With Me. It went on to be certified gold. Along with his debut single, the album produced two more singles, "Startin' With Me" and "Something About a Woman." One of the other songs to appear on his album, "Ghost," was originally intended for Kenny Chesney to record. However, he did not and it ended up on Owen's debut album.
