Launched in 1968, The XJ series has remained the flagship model for British carmaker Jaguar ever since. The XJ's design has not strayed far from its original design, which was the last to receive input from the company's founder, Sir William Lyons.
The current Jaguar XJ features an all-aluminum chassis for reduced weight. It is available in a long-wheelbase version.
A completely new XJ has been announced for the 2010 model year.
Reviews
- "Dances over the road instead of clobbering it like the German competition."

- "The Jaguar XJ holds its own with the best luxury cars in the world. It's beautiful and stately. It swaths its occupants in traditional British club-room luxury, with contrasting seat piping, lots of polished wood, and deep-pile wool rugs, and it spares us the excessive gadgetry. Its rigid aluminum chassis and sophisticated suspension offer a smooth ride and good grip. The long-wheelbase versions offer more rear seat space without significant trade-offs in response or ease of handling."

- "A lightweight aluminum frame, powerful V8 engines, active damping suspension, adaptive cruise control and high-tech features like navigation and Bluetooth keep this flagship sedan in step with competitors from Germany and Japan."
