Major League Baseball outfielder Jacque Jones currently plays with the Chicago Cubs.
After high school, Jones played for the University of Southern California, earning first team All-American honors. In 1996 he was a member of the United States Summer Olympic Baseball Team, winning the bronze medal. He was drafted in 1997 by the Minnesota Twins and immediately sent to the minor leagues. Jones made his MLB debut in 1999 for the Twins and continued to play there until December 2005. One day after declining arbitration with the Twins, he signed with the Chicago Cubs. After a two year rocky relationship with the Cubs, he was traded to the Detroit Tigers on November 12, 2007.
