Jackie Earle Haley is an American actor, director and writer. As a child actor, Haley appeared in several films and television shows in the 1970s, including The Bad News Bears and Wait Until Your Father Gets Home. For approximately ten years, Haley did not land any noteworthy acting roles, but then made a comeback in 2006 to star in several films, including Little Children, for which he earned a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination. In April 2009, Variety announced Haley would be playing Freddy Kreuger in a revival of A Nightmare on Elm Street. Robert Englund created the iconic role in the 1984 original film.LA Times: The New Freddy Kreuger (April 3, 2009)
