British born author Jackie Collins is the younger sister of Joan Collins and has written 26 novels, all of which have been on The New York Times Best Sellers List. Currently Jackie is one of the richest living authors with her personal wealth exceeding $200 million.
Career
Like her sister Joan, Jackie started acting in B movies in the 1950's. She appeared in 1960's ITC TV series "Danger man" and "The Saint". Not much later she gave up on her on-screen career and started writing. Collin's very first novel The World is Full of Married Men was banned in Australia and South Africa due to its open sexuality. She wrote a screenplay of her book The Stud, in which her sister Joan starred. Several of her books have been turned into movies made for TV, such as Lady Boss and Yesterday's Hero. Hollywood Wives was made into a highly rated mini-TV series. Her latest novel "Poor little bitch girl" is release in England and Australia and will be released in the U.S. in early February 2010. Jackie is currently working on a continuation of the "Lucky Santangelo" saga called "Goddess of Vengeance" It is scheduled to be in stores in 2010.
