Jack Sparrow is a Pirate Lord of the Caribbean Sea. He is less inclined to fight when he can more easily talk his way out of treacherous situations. In the first film, Sparrow seeks to regain The Black Pearl, the ship he once captained before a mutiny led by Hector Barbossa. The crew of the Pearl seek to break the ancient curse that has made them members of the walking dead. It is discovered later that Jack is also under this same curse. Sparrow is eventually able to kill Barbossa and retrieve his beloved ship.Sparrow is considered an anti-hero in the films. Although he is the main protagonist, he also exhibits traits of thievery, dishonesty, and treachery (pirate). Despite this, Sparrow does exhibit many redeeming qualities, including his sense of humor and general regard for his shipmates.
