Jack Nicklaus is known as arguably the best professional golfer of all time. In additional to his many accomplishments on the golf course he has written several golf books, made a golf instructional video and worked as a golf course architect, designing several of the worlds best golf courses. Amateur Career
From the age of 12 to 16, Jack Nicklaus won 5 consecutive Ohio State junior titles. In 1959, he was on the Walker Cup team and won the U.S. Amateur. He was a member of the winning Eisenhower Trophy team in 1960. Also that year, Nicklaus finished second to Arnold Palmer at the U.S. Open. In 1961, Jack Nicklaus won his second U.S. Amateur as well as the NCAA Golf Championship.PGA Tour Career

Jack Nicklaus has been active in golf course design for many years, having been directly involved in the design of 271 courses all over the world. His company has 341 courses in 34 countries and 39 states. Major golf publications have recognized 63 Nicklaus Design courses. His courses have hosted over 600 professional tournaments worldwide.
