  • Jack Johnson is a Hawaiian singer, songwriter and former professional surfer. He learned guitar as a teenager and began writing songs around the time he suffered from an injury he sustained while taking part in a surfing competition. G. Love and Special Sauce recorded Johnson's song "Rodeo Clowns" for their album Philadelphonic in 1999, and Johnson recorded his first album, Brushfire Fairytales, with Ben Harper's record producer.

After touring with Harper, Johnson built a devoted following and began seeing commercial success with his debut and the follow up, 2003's On and On. In 2005 his success continued with In Between Dreams which went double platinum.

Johnson's laid back acoustic style and soothing voice made him an ideal candidate to write the soundtrack for 2006's Curious George cartoon movie. In 2008, he released Sleep Through the Static and secured a headlining spot in the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Southern California.
