J.P. Dumont

  • Canadian professional hockey player J.P. Dumont plays for the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League.
  • NHL Career

    Dumont was drafted in 1996 by the New York Islanders, third overall in the NHL Draft. He continued to play for his junior team, the Val-d'Or Foreurs in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League before he was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks on May 30, 1998. He made his NHL debut with the Blackhawks that same year and played with the franchise until March 10, 2000, when he was sent to the Buffalo Sabres. During the 2004-05 NHL Lockout, Dumont played in Swtizerland for the SC Bern. He played one additional year with the Sabres before signing as a free agent with the Nashville Predators on August 29, 2006. On March 3, 2007, Dumont played his 500th career NHL game.
