J.K. Rowling has filed a lawsuit against Harry Potter Lexicon creator Steven Vander Ark. Harry Potter Lexicon is an online encyclopedia of the popular Harry Potter series. Ark turned the information into a book with the same name which was due to be released November 28, 2007, which Rowling says infringes her copyright.
Rowling claims that she had intention to publish her own Harry Potter encyclopedia with all the proceeds going to charity. She has not said when she was to start working on it.
On April 14, 2008, Rowling is expected to appear in a Manhattan courtroom.
