On March 17, 2009, police arrested the person they allege was his accomplice in computer hacking and extortion, Patrick Connolly.   The malware program allowed Dickerson to take over control of the girls' computers, allowing them access to their hard drives, steal more email addresses from their computers, install other malware and send pop up messages to the girls.
