Brief Bio
A native of Puerto Rico, the Texas Rangers signed Rodriguez as an amateur free agent in 1988 and he made his Major League Baseball debut for the Rangers on June 20, 1991. Rodriguez played 11 seasons for the Rangers, collecting 10 All-Star appearances, six Silver Slugger Awards and an American League MVP award in 1999. In 2003, Rodriguez signed a one-year free agent contract with the Florida Marlins. Following his stint with the Marlins, Rodriguez signed with the Tigers as a free agent.
