  • An Intrauterine Device, often referred to in short as an IUD, is an object that is inserted into the uterus through the cervix in order to prevent pregnancy. However, once an IUD has been removed, fertility returns to normal.

    An IUD must be inserted and removed by a health care provider. While an IUD is extremely effective in pregnancy prevention, it does not provide against sexually transmitted diseases
