Background
Israeli Deputy Defense Minister Matan Vilnai warned of an impending invasion of Gaza by Israeli troops during a radio talk on February 29, 2008. During his message he used the word "shoah" which has brought criticism because of it's literal meaning - holocaust. The reference to an invasion force comes on the heels of an increase in the fighting between Israeli forces and loyal Hamas fighters in the Gaza Strip.
