Since first making their presence known in 2004, the Islamic Jihad Union (IJU) has taken responsibility for at least two bombing attacks in Uzbekistan and is suspected in several more terrorist attacks abroad.

- August 2007: Suspected members of the IJU were arrested on terrorist charges in Germany
