Cuban-born American fashion designer Isabel Toledo designed the sparkling gold sheath dress and matching coat worn by first lady Michelle Obama on the day her husband, Barack Obama, was inaugurated as the 44th President of the United States.
Inauguration Surprise
Isabel Toledo said she did not know that Michelle Obama would wear her design until the morning of Barack Obama's inauguration. Toledo said she and her staff were watching the inaugural festivities on television and spotted Obama wearing her lemongrass-colored sheath dress and matching coat. Toledo's reaction? "It's great.
