Iron Monkey is a 1993 film directed by Yuen Woo-ping and produced by Celia Hallquist and Tsiu Hark. Iron Monkey tells the story of a masked bandit who steals from the government and gives the money to the poor, much like Robin Hood. Iron Monkey is a hero for the townsfolk but an enemy to the government. A sequel to Iron Monkey (Iron Monkey 2) was released in 1996. Miramax Films gave Iron Monkey a wide release in America in 2001 with the backing of director Quentin Tarantino.
