The Iron Man game demo was released on Xbox Live Marketplace on April 18, 2008. The demo is 643 MB and can be downloaded for free. In the demo you play as Tony Stark, the industrialist scientist who created the Iron Man suit. You are given various controls over Iron Man's suit: you can hover, fly straight ahead, use a burst of speed while flying, dodge using thrusters while on the ground, use your main weapon (powerful bullets fired out of your hand), auxiliary weapon (same as main weapon, but with a burst of long range missiles), “unibeam” (a very powerful, slow charging burst of energy), and basic melee combat moves. In the demo there are 100 enemies to destroy, and you are given nine minutes to do so. Some of the enemies in the demo include helicopters, tanks and enemy soldiers.
