Iron & Wine is the name of folk/singer-songwriter Sam Beam's musical project. Known for his gentle acoustic strumming, ethereal voice, and lyrically nostalgic songwriting, Beam has released three critically acclaimed albums and a number of EPs on the Sub Pop Records label. Besides his work as a solo artist, Beam has also collaborated with other musicians, including an EP with the band Calexico and a cover of The Postal Service song "Such Great Heights". Iron & Wine's latest album, The Shepard's Dog was released in 2007.
