Health Problems
Irish setters are overall very healthy dogs. They do however require a moderate amount of exercise, such as a daily brisk walk. Their coat also requires weekly brushing to reduce shedding.Sports or Activities
Besides their use in hunting, Irish setters are commonly shown competitively as well as used for search and rescue operations. They can be kept as family pets, but are generally territorial and do not live well with other dominant dogs. Irish setters can be headstrong, but are moderately trainable.
