An Irish Car Bomb is a boilermaker - beer cocktail - made with stout, Irish Cream and Irish whiskey. The name relates both to the Irish components and the fact that car bombings were used by the Provisional Irish Republican Army during the Troubles in Northern Ireland. You may need to show some tact if you order this in Northern Ireland as few people ask for it and the name of the drink may annoy people around you. There are many variations of this drink.
You Will Need
- Stout, Irish cream, Irish whiskey, shot glass, pint glass
Method:
- Pour half a shot of Irish Cream into shot glass
- Float half a shot of Irish whiskey on top (in shot glass)
- (A variation says the Irish cream should go on top of the whiskey)
- Pour between a 1/2 and 3/4 pint of stout into a pint glass
- Drop the shot glass in the stout
- Drink it (quickly!)
