The Iran Reformist Coalition is a group of moderate pro-reform political parties in Iran's parliament. Former president Mohamma Khatami formed the coalition in late 2007 to unify the parliament against current president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's conservative administration. The coalition faced severe opposition from the government's religious Guardian Council in the 2008 legislative elections.

Opposition from the Guardian Council
Most of the Iran Reformist Coalition's candidates were barred from the 2008 election by the Guardian Council in February 2008. Many of the candidates were reinstated a week later, but its strongest candidates remained barred. Critics argue that the Guardian Council's selective approval of candidates has compromised the freeness and fairness of the elections.Telegraph: Reformers purged as Iranians go to polls (March 16, 2008)
