After Apple released the iPhone Update 1.1.1 on September 27, 2007, several people who had installed 3rd party applications or even unlocked their iPhones discovered that their iPhones were bricked (ie, no longer functioning). Fortunately, a partial fix has been found to help unbrick their iPhones.
