The iPhone OS is a mobile operating system that was created by the company Apple Inc. The system is the default operating system for the iPhone, iPod Touch and the iPad. On April 8, 2010, Apple is scheduled to host an event at the Apple Town Hall where a select group of individuals will get a look at the iPhone OS 4.0 which has yet to be given a firm date for release.

It was announced that a select group of individuals would get a chance to see what the new iPhone OS would look like. Version 3.2 Final of the system was just released on April 3, 2010 for the iPad.

The statement touted the event as allowing people to "take a sneak peek of the next generation of iPhone OS software." Analysts are stating that multitasking is going to be one of the major upgrades in the new operating system. An analyst from Kaufmann Brothers, Shaw Wu, made the following statement:

"Our sources indicate that a key feature of the forthcoming iPhone 4.0 software will be a full multi-tasking environment where third-party apps will also be able to be run simultaneously and/or in the background along with AAPL’s own apps.
