iPhone Killer Contenders
- Nokia N97
- The Nokia N97 is being hailed by the company as the "world's most advanced mobile computer" and features a 3.5 inch touchscreen, QWERTY keyboard, 32GB memory and a 5 MP camera. Packed with features to compete with the iPhone, the price, at $695, is a little out of the iPhone's league.
- T-Mobile G1
- The T-Mobile G1 is the first smartphone to run the highly anticipated Google Android operating system. Other T-Mobile G1 features include a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a touchscreen.
- Blackberry Storm
- The Research in Motion manufactured BlackBerry Storm is the first BlackBerry to feature a touchscreen. The BlackBerry Storm also features a 3.2 MP camera and Bluetooth and GPS capabilities.
- LG Voyager
- The Verizon Voyager is a touch-screen smartphone that opens up to a full QWERTY keypad and includes V Cast services and media capabilities. It is currently considered the main competitor to the iPhone.
- Openmoko: Neo Base
- The Neo 1973 or NeoBase is a phone that runs the OpenMoko platform. It features a touchscreen and an open source OS, which makes it a strong contender.
- HTC: HTC Touch
- The HTC Touch Dual is a phone that features a touchscreen and a slide out 20-key keyboard. It's Touchflow UI, which allows panning and zooming, clinches it as a contender.
- LG: LG KU990 or LG Viewty
- Divx playback, a touchscreen, and a whopping 5-megapixel camera in addition to other neat features make this a contender that can't be ignored.
- Samsung: F700
- Although the F700 has sleek looks, a touchscreen, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and HSDPA networking capabilities, it is a contender, albeit a weak one.
- Helio: Helio Ocean
- The Helio Ocean features a QWERTY keyboard, GPS functionality, MySpace Phone, and an MP3 Player. However, with no touchscreen or possibility of adding software and higher prices for service plans, it is a weak contender at best.
- Meizu: M8 miniOne
- Garmin: Nuvifone
