Introduction
- Although you have to pay to download the majority of the iPhone Applications in the iPhone App Store, there are also hundreds that are available for free—you just have to know how to find them.

Search for Free iPhone Apps
- If you know of a specific free app that you want to download, or just want to find other free apps that are not in the top 100, you can search for free apps using the "Power Search" option. You will find the "Power Search" link under the "Quick Links" heading near the top of the page on the right hand size.
- Click on the "Power Search" option to be taken to the search page
- Make sure the option under the "Power Search" heading is set to "Applications"
- Select "iPhone" using the "Device Compatibility" drop-down menu
- Check the "Search for Free Applications" box
- Enter any other search terms or make selections on the "Category" drop down menu as desired
- Click on the "Search" button
- There are also a wide variety of online resources that you can visit to get more information and reviews about new iPhone apps including App Advice, iPhone App Reviews.Net and more.

Step 2: Add the App to Your iPhone
- Once you have found and downloaded a free app that you want to install on your iPhone, the steps to do so are the same as adding a paid application. If you are new to the process, follow the steps below:
- Connect your iPhone to your computer
- Locate the source list and select your iPhone from the drop down menu
- The "Preferences" menu for your iPhone will pop up
- Locate and click on the "Applications" tab
- Select the "Sync Applications" option
- Select the application(s) you want to add to your iPhone and click "Apply"
