The iPhone Dev Center is a website from Apple inc. from which iPhone developers can get access to documentation, downloads, BETA releases and sample code.
When Apple released the iPhone SDK in early 2008 they made it available to potential iPhone Developers through the iPhone Dev Center website. From the website, developers who have registered with Apple and have log-in credentials, can download the latest versions of XCode and the iPhone SDK for various versions of the Mac operating system. There are also getting started videos, getting started documents, coding how-to's, and sample code. From the site developers can also access documentation on all the frameworks and API's available to them through the SDK. Their are various programming guides available for specific frameworks and developers can also access the Apple Developer Forums.
In 2009 Apple added a 'News & Announcements' section which provides information to developers and informs them of app approval times.
