Iowa State University is a public four year institution of higher learning. The Iowa State Cyclones are part of the Big 12 Conference.
History
The Iowa Agricultural College and Model Farm was established in 1858. The name of the institution changed several times, then in 1959, it was finally named the Iowa State University of Science and Technology. Iastate.edu: History of Iowa State
