  • Located in the Midwestern United States, Iowa produces the most corn of any state in the country. Bordered by Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska and South Dakota the majority of the state is plains land. This also allows farmers in the state to produce more pork and eggs than any other U.S. state.

  • Early History

    Originally home to several Native American tribes, Iowa was inhabited by the first American settlers in 1833. Shortly after Iowa became a U.S. state on December 28, 1846, residents began building railroads to assist in farming, foresting and manufacturing operations in the state.
