  • INXS is an Australian rock band originally fronted by the charismatic Michael Hutchence, until his death in 1997. The band sought a new lead singer on the CBS reality television show Rock Star: INXS and continue to record and tour with winner J.D. Fortune.

In February 2009 J.D. Fortune told reporters he had been fired from the band without warning. He also said he had spent all his money recording a solo album and was living in his car. INXS' manager Chris Murphy said Fortune's allegations were false and that the singer had not been fired. Murphy also said, prior to Fortune talking to the press, the band had been expecting to record and tour with him in the future.MusicRadar: The tale of JD Fortune and INXS gets weirder (March 2, 2009)
