  • Interpol is a New York City-based rock band whose rose to fame during the Post-Punk revival of the early 2000s with their mixture of indie-rock, Goth and post-punk. Their debut album Turn on the Bright Lights was released on Matador Records in 2002 and became a critical and commercial success.

The original members of Interpol all met while students at New York University. After recruiting Sam Fogarino to play drums, the band released a number of demos before signing to Indie label Matador Records in 2002. The group's debut album was a critical success and landed the band on countless year-end top 10 lists. Their follow up, 2004's Antics, was a commercial success and saw the band embark on an 18 month tour in support of it (even opening shows for U2 and The Cure). Their third album, Our Love to Admire, was released in 2007.
