International University In Geneva

The International University in Geneva (IUG) is a private institution of higher learning based in Geneva, Switzerland. It was founded in 1997 and offers a range of bachelor and master programs in business administration, media and communication and international relations.

IUG has been called the most international of Switzerland's universities and is amongst the top 10 business schools in Switzerland.

Programs

The International University in Geneva offers undergraduate and graduate programs for business administration, media and communication and international relations. For undergradute business administration students several concentrations are offered including luxury management, finance and accounting and marketing and international business. Graduate students can also persue a master in international business or a master in international trade relations besides the other programs offered. All masters programs are available full time or part time. IUG also offers language courses and english as a second languag class (ESL).

University Life

Despite the university's small size it boasts a very broad spectrum of nationalities, IUG's students come from over 60 nations.http://www.iun.ch/index.cfm/en/iun/about_iug IUG is located in the ICC building near the airport in Geneva and is an urban campus. Several computer labs, class rooms, a library and two lounges are at the students disposal. Extra curricular activities and get togethers are organized by the student council and the university, as are study trips and company visits which are organized in cooperation with the career counsellor.

Memorable Guest Speakers

The latest notable guest speaker was at IUG for the 2009 graduation ceremony, it was Kevin Roberts, CEO Worldwide of Saatchi and Saatchi.http://www.iun.ch/index.cfm/en/iun/news_events Earlier guest speakers included Queen Noor of Jordan, Sir Peter Alexander Ustinov, Bertrand Piccard, Edward de Bono, Daniel Borel, Albert II Prince of Monaco, Patrick Odier, Sepp Blatter, Werner Geissler from Procter & Gamble, and former IOC Director General François Carrard.

Geneva is located in the French speaking part of Switzerland and has a large international community. Many international organizations, private banks and other companies have offices in Geneva.
