On November 23, 2009 the annual International Emmy Awards were presented at the Hilton Hotel, New York City. The 37th annual awards were presented by Julie Walters and Ben Whishaw. Big winner was Brittain, who scooped no less than five awards. Other winners were Brazil, who won their first award, Denmark's "The Protectors" won Best Drama Series, Japan won Best Comedy, and The Netherlands took hold of the non-scripted entertainment award for "The Phone". David Frost received an honorary Founders Award. Frost was acclaimed for his groundbreaking work on BBC satire TV show "That Was The Week That Was", and his interviews, most notably with Richard Nixon, which were even converted into a Broadway Musical.
