The inPulse Smartwatch is the first BlackBerry accessory of its kind. Manufactured by Allerta in Waterloo, Ontario, it allows the wearer to get hands free messages and alerts from the user's BlackBerry Smartphone. It connects wirelessly through the use of Bluetooth technology and can receive calls, SMS messages and emails.
The inPulse is strictly for viewing the data received to the BlackBerry it is paired with. Messages cannot be replied to or composed using the device, although other functions may be added in the future.http://www.getinpulse.com/faq.php
It is charged via a micro-USB jack, and displaying 20-30 updates per day the rechargeable lithium-ion polymer battery is estimated to last for up to four days. http://www.getinpulse.com/faq.php
History
This is the first BlackBerry Accessory of this kind, although it is similar to the MSN Direct SPOT watch. The SPOT watch needed a monthly subscription in addition to the watch itself, which the inPulse does away with by using Bluetooth functionality.
