This is Part 7 of our complete Infinite Undiscovery game guide, featuring Saving Gustav.
Gameplay
In the real-time world of Infinite Undiscovery, the player selects a party of four characters from a possible pool of eighteen. Led by the young flute player Capell, focus has been placed on making use of each character's unique abilities as part of a variety of team combinations throughout the game. Though the usual group size is four, teams may comprise up to twelve members for specific battle sequences. As your team encounters enemies in the game world, the focus seamlessly transitions from the traditional RPG elements into a next generation real-time action game combat system. The game is said to make use of all five senses, so keep in mind that enemies can hear and smell you, as well as see you.

Saving Gustav
- BOSS: Fire Gigas, strong against Fire magic (0% damage), weak against Water magic (250% damage)
- You don't really have to do anything - since Gustav and Dominica aren't in your party, they won't die. They also do more damage against the Fire Gigas than you do, so you can sit back and wait for them to defeat it if you want.
- When the Fire Gigas falls, another cutscene will play.
- TIP: Rescue Gustav without him taking damage to win a Situation Bonus for a Yellow Berry Potion.
- CUTSCENE: Dominica messes with Capell's head about Aya for a bit, then the trio head back to Fayel. Gina is ecstatic to see Gustav again, and Capell sulks about not getting the credit he deserves.
- Go back to the Inn - Eugene will be there to inform you that the Liberation Force will be heading out soon to Vesplume Tower to destroy the Crimson Chain binding that area to the moon. Use the Save Point to save your game, and when you're ready to continue, talk to Eugene.
To Vesplume Tower
- Exit the Inn to trigger a cutscene.
- CUTSCENE: Capell sees Aya, and the pair of them run into Dominica, Gina, and Gustav. Dominica and Gustav join the party, and Gina gets herself in trouble again.
- Dominica, Gustav, and Aya will join the party, and you'll need to set up two parties - I chose to have Capell, Rico, Rucha, and Edward on one team, and Sigmund, Aya, and Gustav on another. Keep in mind, that if you have Gustav on a team, you can only have three members on that team; Gustav takes two party member spots because he's a bear.
- TIP: If you have any weak team members that you want to level, place them on the team other than Capell's. Unless they are on Capell's team, they can't die, giving them infinite life to work towards levels. This is great for when the teams meet up - just walk them around with you and kill the respawning enemies.
- From where you start, head North and then East. Sheathe your weapons and run up the ramp to avoid the falling rocks - your team members will no doubt be pummeled at least once, but keep heading forward until they clear the falling rock ramp.
- Head North to trigger a cutscene.
- CUTSCENE: Sigmund calls Capell over and confides to him that he can no longer destroy chains - his last attempt to do so had failed. Sigmund tells Capell that he is now the center of their strategy, and that he'll protect him.
- Talk to Genma to rest and restock your inventory. He sells Miraculous Medicine, which is highly important from this point forward, so stock up.
- Head North and to the West to find the entrance to Vesplume Tower. Be sure to save the game when it prompts you.
Oradian Mountains Chests
- While you're in the Oradian Mountains on the way to Vesplume Tower, check on these chests:
- Yellow Berry Potion: Between the paths leading to Fayel, on an outcrop (use Vic or Komachi).
- Dragon Hide: North of the path to Bihar Mines on some rocks (use Komachi).
- 20,000 Fol: Left side of first rolling rock slope.
- Musician's Quill: Right side of the second rolling rock slope (use Vic or Komachi).
- Memoirs of a Thief: South of the entrance to Vesplume Tower, behind a cracked rock (use Gustav or Balbagan).
- Memoirs of a Hunter: Northeast portion of the map, east of Vesplume Tower (use Komachi).
Vesplume Tower
- CUTSCENE: Eugene explains to the rest of the Liberation Force that they must divide into three teams and take three approaches to the tower. Sigmund asks Capell to join him, and Eugene wonders as to who else will be on which team.
- Set up your teams as you see fit - it's best to keep Aya and Gustav on a team together, and the twins Rico and Rucha on a team together. When you've set up your teams, head forward down the path.
- The way is quite linear, so for now just know that there are two different doors - Blue Crystal Doors and Red Crystal Doors. Blue Doors are open, and you can go through them as you please; Red Doors are locked, and must be unlocked in a variety of ways.
- As you move forward, you'll find a set of stairs with a Dias of Chaos at the top. Examine it to discover that you need an Orb of Chaos to use with it to unlock certain doors. Head back the way you entered to see a short cutscene.
- CUTSCENE: Edward will find the Orb of Chaos.
- A pigeon is sent to you to inform you that Edward has found an Orb of Chaos, and will hand it over at the last place the two parties met. Head back until you find Edward, and obtain the Orb of Chaos from him. Head back to the Dias of Chaos and use it to unlock the door beneath the platform.
- Head through the newly-opened door to find a Teleport Pad. Stand on it to be teleported to a short hallway with a Save Point. Save your game, then use the Teleport Pad at the end of the hall.
Hall One Cleared
- Because the Teleport Pads always lead to a hall with a Save Point, we'll use them as milestones. With the first Save Point Hall cleared, you'll be at this point.
- Defeat the enemies you find, and take a look at the "???" orbs - hit them to cause the Red Doors to unlock. Head through the now Blue Door to find the first projector puzzle.
- Projector Puzzle I:
- When facing the locked door, examine the back right mirror and the front center mirror to change their positions, then use the projector to shoot a laser into the crystal of the locked door. Head through the door.
- Take the right path to find a Covered Cabinet Mimic - he's got a ton of health, but if you keep using Cutting Gavote and combos, he'll fall without much trouble with a 6,000+ Fol reward. Go back down the path and through the Blue Door to trigger a cutscene.
- CUTSCENE: A Fire Gigas appears.
- Defeat the Fire Gigas - it should be easy if you've been fighting all the enemies you've come across. At this point, if any of your characters aren't at least level 20, you should focus on getting them leveled up. Continue forward.
- There will be 2 "???" orbs, stand between the two and use Spinning Waltz to hit them both simultaneously to unlock the door. There's a Teleport Pad leading to Hallway Two.
- Use the Save Point to save the game, then use the other Teleport Pad.
Hall Two Cleared
- CUTSCENE: Aya shows up, telling Capell to wait for her.
- Talk to Aya to obtain 3 Red Berry Potions and 2 Black Berry Potions. Continue moving until you're outside, and head left to a chest with a Black Berry Potion.
- Go right, defeating the enemies as you go. You won't be able to adjust the camera, so be careful fighting the enemies.
- When you find the next door, continue past it to the right to find another two chests - these contain 5,000 Fol (and a trap), and a Miraculous Medicine.
- Go back and enter the Blue Door to trigger a cutscene.
- CUTSCENE: Shadow versions of the party appear, backed by soldiers of the Order.
- Defeat the shadow versions of your current party to continue forward - they fall quickly to combos. If you have trouble here change your Battle Tactic to "Free" or "Focus".
- Projector Puzzle II:
- To open the door on the left as you enter the room, use the mirror in front of the projector, then use the projector. Go into the room and collect the Orb of Rebirth Fragment (1/4) from the chest, then head back to the puzzle.
- Use the back two mirrors near the projector, then the middle left mirror, and the front right mirror, then turn on the projector to open the last Red Door. Head through it.
- CUTSCENE: Sigmund tells Capell that the Orb they have won't work on the Dias of Patience. He sends a pigeon to the other members and confides in Capell that they've been to Vesplume Tower before. Aya will appear to give you the Orb of Patience, and take the Orb of Order from you.
- Use the Orb of Patience on the Dias of Patience to unlock the door, then head outside. Head left to find two treasure chests. Ignore the top chest - it's trapped and empty. Obtain another Orb of Rebirth Fragment (2/4) from the bottom one, then head right, defeating the enemies you encounter.
- Head past the door back into the tower to find another chest containing an Orb of Rebirth Fragment (3/4).
- Go into the Blue Door to trigger a short cutscene of Order soldiers attacking. You'll need to defeat three waves, which isn't difficult at all - just keep using combos and healing when needed.
- CUTSCENE: Edward appears and defeats the lead Order soldier, then places an Orb into the Dias to unlock the door for Sigmund and his party.
- Go forward through the door and use Spinning Waltz again while standing in the middle of the "???" orbs to unlock the Red Door. Walk to the Teleport Pad and you'll be in Hallway Three. Genma's here, so save your game and use Genma to rest and restock your inventory. Head to the end of the hall and use the Teleport Pad.
Hall Three Cleared
- Projector Puzzle III:
- You'll find yourself surrounded by mirrors again. First, walk down the hallway and use "Percipere" to reveal a hidden mirror. Use that mirror, as well as the two closest to the North wall, and the mirror near the projector. Turn on the projector to open the door near the mirror that was hidden. Go in and obtain an Orb of Rebirth Fragment (4/4). Use Sigmund's IC to create the Orb of Rebirth.
- Head to the end of the hall to the last locked door, and use the mirror at the South corner, the southern-most mirror of the trio in the North corner, and the mirror near the projector. Use the projector to unlock the Red Door and head through.
- Go left and defeat the Crystal Gargoyle to get access to a chest containing a Panacea. Head right, and change your Battle Tactic to "Wait".
- CUTSCENE: An ambush is sprung on Capell and Sigmund - Mages appear on a wall and begin dropping large stones on the pathway.
- Since your Battle Tactic is "Wait", just defeat the enemies that walk to you through the rolling rocks and wait for one of the other two parties to show up and defeat the mages, clearing your path. It doesn't take very long. You can go right of the door back to the interior and find another chest, but it's trapped and only contains 1 Fol.
- CUTSCENE: Aya asks Capell about the Orb of Rebirth.
- Give Aya the Orb of Rebirth that you've already made. Head through the door, and use Spinning Waltz to hit the "???" orbs. Use the Teleport Pad, and save your game. Use the Teleport Pad at the far end of the hallway.
Hall Four Cleared
- Head down the way, defeating the enemies. There are two mages at the end of this hall that are fond of getting Enemy Advantages, so be careful. When you get to the room with the "???" orbs, use Capell's dash attack to hit them all within 2 to 3 seconds to unlock the door. To perform a dash attack, when the targeting reticle is red, tap the A button. There isn't a particular order to hit these orbs in, so take your time and figure out what works best for you.
- TIP: Before you head through the door, change your Battle Tactic to "Focus" and make sure everyone's MP is full.
- CUTSCENE: A giant monster appears to block the path.
- BOSS: Kron the Vicious Eye, weak against Aether magic (100% damage), strong against Air magic (0% damage)
- Kron only takes 50% damage from all other elements, so unless you happen to have a lot of Aether magic laying around, this is more a melee combo fight. Start by defeating the wolves, then use "Focus" Battle Tactic to concentrate heavy attacks on Kron himself. He'll fall eventually. He can cause various status effects, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem - you did stock up the last time you met Genma, didn't you?
- TIP: Defeat Kron within a minute to win a Situation Bonus to obtain a Blue Berry Powder and a Giant Eye.
- TIP: After you defeat Kron, head back to Hall Four to use the Save Point. You'll find a difficult battle just ahead, and it's a pain having to re-fight Crom the Vicious Eye more than once.
- Head through the door at the back of the chamber to find stairs, and go up them.
- CUTSCENE: The party finds the Dreadknight himself, Leonid, waiting for them, perched on the Crimson Chain. Seranda is also there, waiting with him. Leonid the Dreadknight and Sigmund the Liberator meet, and Leonid talks about how much work goes into kneeling before "The One". He and Sigmund begin to fight.
Vesplume Tower Chests
- The following chests are on the 5th Floor:
- Black Berry Potion: After exiting to the outside area, West of the door.
- 5,000 Fol: Same area as above, East past the door, top chest (trapped).
- Miraculous Medicine: Same as above, bottom chest.
- Orb of the Order: In the room with mirrors, in the room on the left.
- Empty: Second time outside, West of the door. It's trapped, too.
- Orb or Rebirth Fragment: Same as above, the bottom chest.
- Orb of Rebirth Fragment: Same area as above, East of the door back inside.
- The following chests are on the 7th Floor:
- Orb of Rebirth Fragment: In the next mirror room, open the closest door.
- Panacea: After going outside, head West.
- 1 Fol: Same area as above, East of the door back inside (trapped).
Crimson Chain
- BOSS: Dimitri, weak against Earth magic (250% damage), strong against Water magic (0% damage)
- It can't be stressed enough that you should stay away from the Dreadknight - unless you've been grinding, three hits from his chain attack can kill you, and while Miraculous Medicines can be used, wasting them is a different story. Focus your attacks on Dimitri.
- Eventually, Aya will show up to help you, as well as Edward after her. Neither are considered your party members, nor is Sigmund still a party member, so the three of them are currently invincible - keep yourself and anyone still in your party healed, and keep attacking Dimitri with your most powerful attacks that aren't Water-based.
- More Order soldiers will come to the tower roof via the two entrances, so be sure to take them down when they arrive. After Dimitri falls, another cutscene plays.
- TIP: Defeat Dimitri within two minutes to win a Situation Bonus for Lentesco Wood and Down Feather Cloth.
- CUTSCENE: Leonid is down, but not out - the party surrounds him. Sigmund orders Capell to go destroy the Crimson Chain. Leonid rises, deflecting a blow from Sigmund, and rises into the air to cast a spell. Sigmund jumps up to strike Leonid down, and an Order soldier jumps in his way. Sigmund throws him aside and grabs Leonid, telling Capell that he will always protect him, and both Sigmund and Leonid disappear in a flash of bright, destructive light. Capell destroys the Crimson Chain.
- You'll earn the Crimson Crusader Achievement, and another cutscene plays.
- CUTSCENE: The rest of the Liberation Force shows up, wondering at Sigmund's absence. Word spreads that he fell, and Dominica gives Capell Sigmund's amulet. Capell decides to become Sigmund to the world, telling everyone that Capell has died and that Sigmund still lives, but the rest of the Force is unsure if it will work.
- Save the game when it prompts you, and insert Disc 2 to continue playing.
