This is Part 10 of our complete Infinite Undiscovery game guide, featuring Return to Halgita.
Gameplay
In the real-time world of Infinite Undiscovery, the player selects a party of four characters from a possible pool of eighteen. Led by the young flute player Capell, focus has been placed on making use of each character's unique abilities as part of a variety of team combinations throughout the game. Though the usual group size is four, teams may comprise up to twelve members for specific battle sequences. As your team encounters enemies in the game world, the focus seamlessly transitions from the traditional RPG elements into a next generation real-time action game combat system. The game is said to make use of all five senses, so keep in mind that enemies can hear and smell you, as well as see you.
-
Return to Halgita
- CUTSCENE: On the way back to Halgita, Vic notices smoke. The party rushes to Halgita, where Genma informs them that the enemy is inside the Palace.
- You'll need to head to Empress Svala's chambers - you should already know the way. Get there within 3 minutes to gain some Malus Wood, as well as gain the Imperial Guard Achievement.
- CUTSCENE: The Dreadknight appears, and gives the Empress an offer. He sends his subordinate, Held, outside to deal with the "mess". Savio and Kiriya know Held from long ago...Leonid the Dreadknight spares the party for an unknown reason, and Capell faints and has a vision of the Empress performing a ritual that involves a child. When he awakens, the Empress assigns Touma and Komachi to his party - then touches Capell's soul and discovers his true identity.
- Touma will tell you about the Dais, which will be your next destination. Save in the Inn before heading out, and restock any items you might need (like Miraculous Medicines, or the various Berry Potions).
Dais
- CUTSCENE: Touma tells the party that the cave is the best shortcut to get to the Amber Chain, but the cave is full of Rachnuvus, a spider-like creature with ant-like behavior. The party's best chance is to defeat the Queen of the hive, so all the other Rachnuvae will fight over who will be the new queen and the party will be ignored.
- Use the save point to save the game, and head through the East passage. Use "Alucinari" to create a doppelganger of Capell and send him through the webbing to avoid being hit with the status ailments.
- From the gate, go right, and fight until you see a cutscene where a Rachnuvus makes a bridge with webbing (this is referred to as a "Spider Bridge" for the purposes of clarity). Cross the bridge to continue.
- Head left to fight two Mimics, and then head back to the fork to follow the right path. Cross the newly-made Spider Bridge, use "Alucinari" on the webbing, and use "Percipere" to reveal a chest with Rachnuvus Cloth.
- Cross the next Spider Bridge, then head left to find a chest with Para-Gone. Back track to take the right path, cross the Spider Bridge, and stay left to clear the area. Back track and head down the right path, taking the left offshoot to find two chests - one with an Antidote, the other with a Genius' Quill. Back track again to the passage and continue on to the next Spider Bridge.
- Use "Alucinari" to get through the webbing here, and head left to cross another Spider Bridge, then head right. Head left through the webbing (using "Alucinari"), then left again, and use "Percipere" to reveal a chest containing a Prismatite Sword. Back track and follow the path up to trigger a cutscene.
Boss of Dais Cave
- CUTSCENE: The Queen appears, and everyone reacts a little differently - Aya is disgusted, and Capell can't help but make a joke, much to Touma's chagrin. They prepare to fight, and focus on the Queen.
- BOSS: Queen Rachnuvus
- This boss is annoying - the Queen herself doesn't attack that often, and wouldn't pose much of a threat, except for all the spider enemies that keep spawning in. They attack with status ailment attacks and interrupt you more than anything.
- To attack the Queen, don't go straight forward at her - she'll guard against you using her mandibles. Stand to the left or right of her head and attack her until she begins rushing forward, then back away and wait for her to return to her hole. Repeat the process to drop her quickly. Enchanting everyone with a Fire attack or using Fire magic will drop her even faster. Use "Free" Battle Tactic to make sure that the minions are killed in time, and stay ready to do heal requests.
- After you defeat the Queen, head through the path that's opened up to get to the Amber Chain - stopping to save the game and collect an Odious Eye, Panacea, Overture Notations, and Silk Robe from the chests on the way. Head up the path to find the Amber Chain.
Dais Chests
- 1st Floor:
- Red Berry Potion: South of the save point, in the dead end tunnel.
- Halgitan Paper: North tunnel.
- 3rd Floor:
- Rachnuvus Cloth: Dead end tunnel behind webbing on the left, use "Percipere" to reveal.
- Para-Gone: Follow the path on the 3rd floor to the split, take the left path, through the webbing, at the end of the chamber.
- Genius' Quill: At the second split, head right, and at the next split, head left (use Vic or Komachi).
- Antidote: Same as above (use Vic or Komachi).
- 4th Floor:
- Rachnuvus Pumps: On the fourth floor, use Rico to control a spider and create bridges for the gaps to the West, East, and North. This is on the North path (use Komachi).
- Malus Wood: Head across the East gap, past the split to find two chests (use Vic or Komachi).
- White Berry Potion: Same area as above (use Vic or Komachi).
- 5th Floor:
- Prismatite Sword: On the fifth floor head left down the split path to find the Wave Spot, use "Percipere" to reveal.
- Odious Eye: After defeating the Queen, you can't miss it.
- Panacea: North of the one above.
- Outside:
- Overture Notations: In one of the two chests by the save point.
- Silk Robe: Same area as above.
Amber Chain
- CUTSCENE: Held and Savio discuss things, and Held's history is revealed. Once they finish, he attacks.
- BOSS: Held, seak against Aether magic (250% damage), strong against Air magic (50% damage)
- Held is a pain in that he's a two-part battle, which you'll be running into more and more after this. Attack him, or simply run around him, as Kiriya and Savio will appear to attack him as well - since they aren't party members, they won't require healing. He'll summon Faespheres as well, which will cast magic at you, so destroy them as quickly as possible - they're difficult to dodge.
- When this form drops, a cutscene plays. Defeat him in less than 2 minutes to win a Situation Bonus, and obtain Memoirs of a Mage.
- CUTSCENE: Seranda appears, and Vermifies Held, who continues the attack on the Liberation Force.
- As with any other Vermiform enemy, you'll need to play "Percipere" to reveal him so that party members with Lunaglyphs can attack him.
- When they stun him, the shield around the Amber Chain will fall, and you can attack it. Save your magic for Battle Skills to use against the chain itself, and repeat the process to defeat the Vermified Held.
- CUTSCENE: Held falls, and the area begins to tremor. The Liberation Force must retreat from the area, but the Amber Chain has been destroyed!
- You'll unlock the Amber Ace Achievement.
Return to Halgita
- CUTSCENE: Empress Svala thanks the Liberation Force for their help, and offers to grant a wish for them that's within her power. They ask her to inform her people of the dangers of Lunar Rain, and she agrees amidst protest from her advisors. They begin production on an anti-vermification medication.
- Head to the first floor and restock your supplies, then head to main hall to trigger another cutscene.
- CUTSCENE: Capell meets up with Faina and Leif, who were saved by a Nightwhisper during the attack on Halgita. Leif wants to become a Nightwhisper now, and Faina tells Capell that she'll probably be heading back to Sapran, so they won't see each other for a while.
- Head to the Inn to rest and heal the characters, then save the game. From there, head back to the main hall and trigger another cutscene.
- CUTSCENE: Genma appears to give Aya a message from Emir Sharukh. Fayel has been attacked by Vermiforms, and he asks for the help of the Force. Capell agrees to go to Fayel so that Aya can help her father.
- Head back to Kolton from Halgita to begin the journey back to Fayel.
Back in Kolton
- CUTSCENE: The Force must wait for a ship to arrive before they can set out for Zala, and from there head to Fayel, so Edward suggests that Capell go and see the king of Kolton, since they left without meeting with him once before.
- From where you start, head forward to enter the castle and trigger another cutscene.
- CUTSCENE: Capell tells the Kolton king about the current situation, the Lunar Rain, the Vermiforms, etc. The king sends some of his own people with Capell (whom he believes to be Sigmund) to help along the way, and Kristofer and Seraphina join the Force.
- You can now go board the ship to Port Zala, so go do that now.
Back in Port Zala
- CUTSCENE: The Force sees Lunar Rain in the distance, which has never appeared there before. Aya wants to warn her father, the Emir Sharukh, as soon as possible.
- Head back out of Port Zala to Fayel, but before you head to the Emir's castle, let's go to the Bihar Mines, shall we?
Bihar Mines
- The Bihar Mines is a completely optional area, and as such, I chose not to do it until this late in the game - it can be done as soon as it's reachable, from the Oradian Dunes or the Oradian Mountains entrance. To get there from where we currently are, head to the entrance to Oradian Mountains from inside Fayel and head East and South until you reach the entrance.
Getting Around Bihar Mines
- Use the callpipes when you can to agitate the enemies, and use the mine carts to hit enemies for a one-hit kill. From where you start, head into the left room to clear out some Jumpers, and use Vic or Komachi to open the chest to obtain some Blaze Metal. Head back out into the hall and enter the second room on the left.
- Use the callpipe to call up the elevator, defeat the enemies that arrive with it, and head down to fight more enemies and a Jumper Leader. Head back up the elevator and out into the hall, then at the end of the hall take a right and use the elevator to continue.
- Head East, then North and through the West door to find a chest with the Fugue Notations in it. The Musician's Quill is in a chest due East of the callpipe. Head East through the door, and use the callpipe to call the elevator. Defeat the enemies and take the elevator down to defeat some more enemies. Head back up, and use the callpipe on the wall as you head back West.
- Go North, backtracking, and through the East door you unlocked by using the callpipe, and defeat the enemies here. You'll find an elevator at the end of the path - head down it, and into the North room to fight a Jeweled Cabinet Mimic.
- Head East to exit the Bihar Mines back near the entrance to Port Zala. Fight your way back to Fayel to gain more EXP, use the Inn to rest, and save your game.
Bihar Mines Chests
- Mercurius Metal: From the Oradian Dunes entrance, you'll see a fiery area along the left wall. Use Komachi to grab it.
- Musician's Quill: From the Oradian Dunes side, use the elevator and head through the area until you find the wooden walkway over the fiery area.
- Fugue Notations: Across from the chest above (use Vic or Komachi).
- Blaze Metal: From the Oradian Mountains entrance, the first room on the left (use Vic or Komachi).
Back in Fayel
- Head to the castle, up to the Emir's quarters to trigger a cutscene.
- CUTSCENE: Aya and Capell talk to the Emir, and explain to him the situation concerning the Vermiforms, the Lunar Rain, and so forth. He tells them that Sapran is under attack, but that he can't help them because they are Unblesseds, angering Capell. Capell rushes off to save the villagers of Sapran, and Aya calls him by his real name in her distress, tipping off the Emir.
- Guess what? You need to head to Sapran, and quickly - get there within 3 minutes to win a Situation Bonus and gain 30,000 EXP.
- You'll be fighting Vermiforms and other higher-level enemies as you progress through this area to get to Sapran, so just keep "Percipere" at the ready and sheathe your sword to run when you can.
- The Oasis Save Point no longer exists, so don't bother looking for it - just get to Sapran.
Sapran, Attacked
- CUTSCENE: The Force hears screams, and Capell watches as the man who taught him about enchanting dies at the hands of a Vermiform.
- You'll need to defeat three or so Vermiforms to continue - it isn't difficult, just keep playing "Percipere" and you should be done quickly. If you're having trouble, set your Battle Tactic to "Free" or "Focus".
- CUTSCENE: Capell rushes off to find Faina and Leif, and watches, helpless to do anything, as they are killed. He rushes to Faina's side, and she confesses her love for him before passing away. Capell begins to hate all Lunaglyphs...
- From this point forward, you'll notice that Capell seems "harder" - his vocal commands, voice, and titles for his allies are all much more stern and, in some cases, pessimistic.
Back in Fayel
- Return to the Emir's room - everyone in town is acting strangely towards the Force, so unless you need to upgrade your weapons and armor or restock your inventory, just head directly there.
- CUTSCENE: Capell is found out. The Emir places him under arrest, but Capell refuses to allow himself to be caught until after he has severed all the chains binding the moon to the planet. He walks away from the situation, and is followed by guards, who surround him. He's saved, however, by Balbagan, who's returned to rejoin the Liberation Force. They decide to head to Cassandra, the Order of Chains' stronghold, with a stop over at Port Zala.
To Cassandra
- Not many people are going to be friendly to you at this point - you're an imposter to them, and they don't have much niceties to share with you. Weapons, items, and armor can still be purchased, but that's about the extent of it. Best to just head on to Kolton via the ship at the Pier.
Back in Kolton
- CUTSCENE: The Force embarks to Kolton on the way to Cassandra, and is met by guards in Kolton. Seraphina wishes to try talking their way out of the situation, and Capell is brought before the king, who is extremely displeased. Seraphina tries talking to him, and suddenly the Emir Sharukh appears to back up the Force, promising to compensate for any damages caused by the Force. Kolton's leader agrees, when Seranda appears and traps Capell in chains. She attempts to kill Aya, but the blast is blocked by the Emir Sharukh himself, who sacrifices his life for his daughter's. Capell escapes, but so does Seranda, and Aya swears vengeance. The Empress Svala comes to Kolton to talk with Capell, and reveals Lord Sigmund's history to the disbelief of Touma and Komachi.
- Exit the castle, and take note of the teleporter in the East wing - you'll use it after you beat the game.
- CUTSCENE: Eugene and Capell talk about some things, and Dominica asks Capell to try cheering Aya up. A guard explains to Capell that the Teleport Pad to Cobasna Timberlands has been recalibrated to take them to Castle Valette, and Capell thanks him.
- Use the Inn to rest and save your game, then head East to the Teleport Pad and choose "Castle Valette" from the list to continue.
