Gameplay
In the real-time world of Infinite Undiscovery, the player selects a party of four characters from a possible pool of eighteen. Led by the young flute player Capell, focus has been placed on making use of each character's unique abilities as part of a variety of team combinations throughout the game. Though the usual group size is four, teams may comprise up to twelve members for specific battle sequences. As your team encounters enemies in the game world, the focus seamlessly transitions from the traditional RPG elements into a next generation real-time action game combat system. The game is said to make use of all five senses, so keep in mind that enemies can hear and smell you, as well as see you.

Introduction
- This guide is a step-by-step walkthrough for completing Infinite Undiscovery for the Xbox 360. Locations of treasure chests, a comprehensive guide to the main quest and side-quests, information on battling, leveling tips and tricks, and more are all found below. Each town has its own section, with the sub-sections being the maps you'll cross through to get to the next storyline element, as well as what items the local shops sell, and what side-quests you'll encounter in each town.
- The game is meant to be played through a few times, trying different tactics each time. Due to the Situational Battles and ever-evolving world, no two playthroughs are exactly the same even though the game is linear. This guide assumes that you are on the first playthrough on Normal difficulty.

Infinite Undiscovery Overview
- Below you'll find information on the game basics - how it works, why it works, and when it works.
Active Time
- The world of Infinite Undiscovery never stops moving - even when you're checking your menu to see what that new item you just picked up was called, you can still be attacked by enemies. The only way to keep the in-game time from progressing is to pause the game by pressing the Start button. This makes it vitally important to always clear an area of enemies before stopping to check your inventory. Enemies do respawn, however - while this may be good for leveling, it's a bit troublesome when you need to get into your inventory to use some healing items. Active Time, when paused by pressing the Start button, doesn't increase your game's total play time, either.
Fol
- Fol is the monetary system used in Infinite Undiscovery - you use Fol to buy weapons, armor, accessories, items, and to pay for stays at Inns. You can hold a maximum of 99,999,999 Fol at any one time (which will gain you the Filthy Rich Achievement - for more Achievements, see the Achievements section).
Using the Mini-Map
- The mini-map that stays in the upper right corner of the screen can be your best friend, if you know how to read it properly. Below are the icons that appear on the mini-map with explanations to make reading it easier and more helpful.
- White Triangle: Shows Capell's location, with the cone displaying his line of sight. This symbol is also sometimes used to denote allies during certain events.
- Red Triangle: Shows the location of enemies.
- Orange Triangle: Denotes the entrances to towns, caves, dungeons, shrines, woods, etc.
- Yellow Triangle: Shows your party member's location.
- Blue Triangle: Denotes a Save Point - use them to save your current progress.
- Green Triangle: Denotes the location of Shopkeepers. Shopkeepers are important - you can buy impressive armor and armaments from Shops throughout the world of Infinite Undiscovery, as well as stock up on healing items and the like. Whenever a Shop is encountered, the list of items it carries is shown in the walkthrough.
Condition Gauges
- From time to time, you'll run across a situation where a gauge will appear - which kind of Condition Gauge it is depends on the condition.
- Blue Gauges appear when you need to take the HP of an enemy to 0, break down a door, etc. This is an un-timed event, but you still must reduce the gauge to 0.
- Red Gauges appear when you are being timed - you must complete a certain task before the gauge is reduced to 0.
Treasure Chests
- Treasure chests contain valuable loot, possibly even armor and weapons that you can use on your adventure. Sometimes, it's as easy as sheathing your sword (RT) and examining the chest (A) - other times, you need to Connect to a party member who can pick the lock, or simply bash it open with your sword. When a chest is bashed open, there's a chance the item inside will be converted to Junk, a useless item if ever there was one.
Status Ailments
- Status Ailments can be caused by an enemy attack or by enemy magic. There are fifteen (15) Status Ailments to contend with in Infinite Undiscovery, which are listed below with descriptions of how they affect you and what item to use to instantly negate the status.
- Faint: The afflicted character is unable to act - use Panacea to cure.
- Sleep: The afflicted character is unable to act for a short time - use Coffee to cure.
- Poison: The afflicted character's HP slowly decreases over time - use Antidote to cure.
- Curse: The afflicted character's MP slowly decreases over time - use Holy Water to cure.
- Paralysis: The afflicted character is unable to act for a short time - use Para-gone to cure.
- Silence: The afflicted character is unable to use magic for a short time - use Cough Drop to cure.
- Confusion: Capell's movement and buttons are altered for a short time, and characters may target each other - use Sedative to cure.
- Freeze: The afflicted character is unable to act for a short time - use Spring Warmth to cure.
- Stone: The afflicted character is unable to act for a short time. A timer appears, and when it reaches zero, the petrified character will die - use Odious Eye to cure.
- Unseeing: The mini-map will blur and the target display will not appear. You can't Connect with characters afflicted with Unseeing - use Eye Drops to cure.
- Unhearing: The afflicted character is unable to sheathe weapon, and Capell can't give order to or Connect with them - use Angel Earpick to cure.
- Untasting: The afflicted character receives no benefit from eating food. This status doesn't fade with time - use Toothbrush to cure.
- Stink: The afflicted character is bathed in a potent odor that may attract enemies - use Aroma Oil to cure.
- Charm: The afflicted character will target party members for a short time - use Maiden's Scorn to cure.
- Berserk: The afflicted character's attack power increases by 50% for a short time; they can't sheathe their weapon, and Capell can't give orders to or Connect with them - use Panacea to cure.
Wave Spots
- Wave Spots are wavy areas in the game - they have a visual distortion effect, as well as a warping noise that emits from them when you're close enough. To negate a Wave Spot and check what hidden content lies in it (sometimes it's a treasure chest, and sometimes it's a hidden path), play the Percipere Tune on the Seruleus Flute that you obtain in Dragonbone Shrine when you go to Nolaan.
