About the Game
inFamous is an action-adventure game developed by Sucker Punch, who also created the award-winning Sly Cooper series of video games. The game starts out in Empire City, where a huge explosion has just wiped out a segment of the population. Cole, a messenger, somehow survives the blast. He has now been set on a path to discovering the source of the blast and the mysterious powers that he possesses.
Throughout inFamous, players make different choices in how they act in the game. Rather than killing people, players can choose to simply knock them out. Some people may decide to throw a grenade into a group of enemies, regardless of any innocent bystanders. Different actions give different karmic results, and civilians in the city react differently to Cole depending on how he behaves.
Cole has a variety of abilities to help him carry out his different missions. He can shoot lightning bolts, launch grenades, heal, and more. The entire city is destructible and will show the effects of Cole's encounters with enemies. Cole can fully explore his urban surroundings, interacting with the inhabitants, scaling the buildings, etc. For this reason, all of the buildings are highly detailed, increasing the feeling of immersion in the game world.
