In InFamous, players take on the role of Cole, an average man who suddenly finds himself developing superpowers after terrorists detonate an experimental weapon in the city. With his new ability to manipulate electricity, Cole sets out to find the source of the explosion. During his missions, his behavior influences how the city's inhabitants react and also earns Cole experience points with the game's karma system.
