Hoeppner's Hopes
While the Hoosiers football team usually takes a backseat to its hugely popular basketball program, but the Hoosiers squad began a bit of a resurgence in the mid-2000s with the late Terry Hoeppner as coach. His goal to "Play 13" (in reference to playing an extra 13th game in a bowl) was met when the Hoosiers knocked off arch rival Purdue to reach the Insight Bowl the season after his 2007 passing from brain cancer.
