Indian food is a complex cuisine, containing distinct and delicate flavors, and a large variety of spices, dishes, and cooking techniques. Typical Indian meals are centered around family, and consist of several main courses, a variety of side dishes, rice, and bread such as Naan. Common elements in the cuisine are lentils, ghee, atta, chana, garam masala, curry, tea, and lassi. Indian cuisine is dominated by vegetarian dishes, but there is some meat, such as lamb, goat, chicken, and fish.
