At the end of the 2009 luncheon, Senator Edward Kennedy suffered a seizure and was taken to the hospital by medical personnel. Kennedy was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in May 2008. Although no immediate word on his well-being was available, Kennedy's son, congressman Patrick Kennedy, said he was "awake and talking". Reuters: Sen.
