Russian professional hockey player Ilya Bryzgalov plays for the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League.
NHL Career
Bryzgalov was drafted 44th overall in the 2000 NHL draft by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. He made his NHL debut with the Ducks in 2001 and split his first three seasons between the Ducks and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks. He played exclusively in the AHL during the 2004-05 NHL lockout before returning to Anaheim and helping the team win the 2007 Stanley Cup championship. Nine games into the 2007-08 regular season, Bryzgalov was waived by the Ducks and then picked up by the Phoenix Coyotes.
