On March 20, 2008, a corn flake shaped like the state of Illinois sold for $1350 on eBay. Emily McIntire, of Chesapeake, Virginia, said that she noticed the Illinois Corn Flake in her cereal, and decided to see what people would pay for it. She and her sister Melissa, 23, listed it on eBay, promising free shipping to Illinois. The winning bidder was Monty Kerr of Texas, who operates an online trivia museum.
