Ilana Lost

Ilana is a character on the ABC series Lost, and is played by Zuleikha Robinson.

Before the Island. Little to nothing is known about Ilana's past. In 2007 she was injured and at a Russian hospital recovering. While there, Jacob visited her, asking her for help, and she readily agreed. Llater she seduced Sayid in a bar and later attacked him, taking him hostage. Ilana pretended that Sayid was her prisoner and escorted him on Ajira Airways Flight 316, which was fated to crash on Hydra Island (the small island just off the coast of the main Island).

On the Island While on the Hydra Island, Ilana searched the DHARMA Initiative hatches. Later she met John Locke. She was suspicious when he told her he was dead before crashing on the Island. When the group's first leader, Caesar, was killed by Ben, Ilana took charge. They gathered weapons and prepared to travel the Island. Frank Lapidus asked them what they were doing and Ilana asked him a mysterious question “What lies in the shadow of the statue?”. He didn’t know what she was talking about so she took him captive and brought him and the rest of the group to the main Island. Once there, they went to Jacob’s cabin. Upon finding it empty, Ilana had them destroy it. The group then went to the statue of Taweret (often referred to as "The Statue"), where she found Richard Alpert and showed him the dead body of John Locke. Ilana’s team confronted Man in Black|Locke’s impostor, who turned into the smoke monster and murdered the men. When Ilana heard that Jacob was murdered by the Man in Black and then kicked into the fire, she gathered his ashes in a small bag. Ilana suggested that they go to the Temple since it was the safest place on the Island. Ilana, Sun, Ben and Frank arrived at the Temple at sundown, only to find the Man in Black attacking those there. Amidst the chaos, they started looking for Jacob’s candidates, in an effort to safe them. She only found Miles, however, and they escaped out a secret passage. The group decided to go to the survivors’ old camp at the beach. On the way there Ilana began questioning Ben's honesty when he had told her Jacob was killed by the Man in Black. To prove Ben was lying, she told Miles to listen to Jacob’s dying thoughts through Jacob’s ashes. Miles revealed that the Man in Black had not killed Jacob, rather it was Ben. After they reached the camp, Ilana took Ben hostage, chained to a tree, and forced him to dig his own grave as payment for Jacob’s murder. The Man in Black snuck into the camp when Ilana wasn’t looking and helped Ben escape. Ben ran into the jungle and Ilana ran after him. When she caught up, Ben had found a rifle that he aimed at Ilana. Ben explained to her why he had killed Jacob; because he had been angry at Jacob and blamed him for the death of his daughter, Alex. Ilana sympathized with Ben, and asked him where he was going. He said he was going to Locke because Locke was the only one who would have him.
