On February 23, 2010, the International Hoiuse of Pancakes chain of restaurants is offering the chance for customers to help them celebrate National Pancake Day with a free short stack of pancakes in exchange for a suggested donation to the Children's Miracle Network.
A tradition of fundraising
This will be the fifth year that IHOP has hosted a day of offering free short stacks of pancakes in exchange for having their customers make donations to their local children's hospital as part of the Children's Miracle Network.
The goal is to raise a total of $5 million over a five year span. This specific fundraising effort will last through the end of the week.
National Pancake day has origins from several centuries ago as part of the Mardi gras celebration in preparation of Lent.
