Three men from Iceland created the website iftheworldcouldvote.com to allow people from all over the world to share their opinions on whether they feel Barack Obama or John McCain should be the next president of the United States. The website creators are also striving to encourage a greater number of people to vote on the website than those that voted in the last U.S. presidential election.iftheworldcouldvote.com: FAQ

Results

As of approximately 3:30 p.m. PST, iftheworldcouldvote.com posted the following results:

  • Barack Obama: 87.3% (737,464 votes)
  • John McCain: 12.7% (107,403 votes)
  • Total number of votes: 844,892
  • Voters from 213 countries had voted
  • Over 7,000 people had cast their vote between approximately 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. PST
  • The only countries whose residents favored McCain over Obama were Macedonia and Albaniaiftheworldcouldvote.com: Results
