Identical Twins

- Usually do not carry full term
- Estimated to be approximately 10 million Identical Twins in the world
- About 1% of twins result in conjoined twins
- Physically alike, except fingerprints
- Approximately 3 pairs per 1,000 deliveries occur as a result of natural conception

Identical Twins occur when a single egg is fertilized and then divides into two separate embryos.
