Ice Princess is a film about a brainy young woman named Casey Carlyle, played by Michelle Trachtenberg, who is in the midst of pursuing a scholarship. While completing a required task related to the scholarship having to do with physics, she realizes she has the talent to be an ice skater. She starts training with a coach, played by Kim Cattrall, and starts competing, which puts her school work and scholarship in jeopardy. Her mother, played by Joan Cusack, doesn't understand her new passion, but they eventually reconcile, and Casey pursues her dream of skating.
